City Fun and Mothers Day

Last weekend my awesome friend Colleen got married.  We went up north so we could celebrate with her.  I was pretty worried about the drive- myself and 2 boys who both get bored in the car.  The ride up wasn't too bad.  We traveled alongside Andrea and her little family.  We made one stop that was just about an hour.  Once we got up there we spent the evening at Bradley and Julie's house.  The kids loved playing together and we had a fun time visiting.  We also ate some delicious homemade french fries and corn dogs.
 Saturday was the wedding, so while Rebs went to the ceremony, Andrea, Ivica, Me, the kids decided to check out city creek.

 We enjoyed breakfast at Kneaders Bakery- very tasty- and just walked around.  After Rebekah got done at the ceremony we decided to go for a short/quick walk around temple square.

After our fun morning we just relaxed and did whatever for a few hours.  After a few of us had some short naps we headed to WAY West Valley for the wedding reception.  We met my aunt Alice and Bradley and Julie for dinner at Cafe Rio'.  After we had dinner we went and enjoyed the celebration with Colleen and her new husband. It was a pretty fun few days.

The next morning was Mothers day, so we left Salt Lake pretty early so we could come spend some time with grandma Gardner.  I guess the kids knew it was mothers day, because Caleb only slept for about 1 1/2 hours and he didn't cry at all the rest the way home.


MOTHERS DAY
This year for mothers day, we (Me and Jamie) decided to make a fun photo collage for Christy.  We got between 40-50 pictures of the family and printed them in black and white.  We then mod-podged them onto a board that we had painted black.  We put a large picture of Jeff and Christy in the center and then all around their picture we put her kids and lots of her grand kids. Then we put base-board trim around it to make a frame, and at the bottom we put the words "all because two people fell in love"  It turned out way cute.  I think she liked it!
I have two very amazing mothers!  I am so lucky to have the mom I have- who is so kind, and loving, and willing to do so much.  I am also very lucky to have Christy in my life- if I could describe her in one word, the word I would choose would be charity.  I look up to both of them so so much.  Thanks for being the most amazing women in my life!
I am also very grateful to be a mom!  I love my two boys more than words can say.  I thank Heavenly Father for putting enough faith in me to be a mom.  I love it- even when it seems hard or impossible I wouldn't trade being a mom for anything in the world!

Cows, Hamblin Valley, and Family Fun

 
A couple of weekends ago, the boys all went to Hamblin valley to move the cows.  So, we decided to make a fun Saturday out of the work... we went out to have a picnic with them.  We had fun just spending time out doors.

Congrats Baylee on your graduation!!
Baylee graduated with her associates degree on Friday May 4.  We had a fun time celebrating with ice cream.  We love you Baylee! CONGRATS!!

His heaven is called a Tractor!

Kelson LOVES tractors!! He was in heaven when Trevor came home in this last Saturday.  He said, "I need to go drive that backhoe"  He was out with dad and the tractor most of the day.

Easter Fun

This year we went to visit Grandma Shakespear in Tropic for the Easter weekend.  We went over on Thursday late afternoon.  The boys all went bear hunting up on Boulder mountain (didn't see any bears though) all weekend.  The kids and girls stayed at grandma's house visiting watching movies and just having fun.  The Easter bunny came on Saturday morning to bring buckets of fun to the kids.  Caleb loved the snacks and toys he got.  And Kelson loved the candy, bubbles, and water gun. 

Saturday evening a few of us decided to go hike to Mossy Cave and the Waterfall.  It is really pretty over by Bryce Caynon.  All the red rock is pretty.  We had a fun Easter weekend.

We planned to do an easter egg hunt while we were there, but we never got to it.  So we had a late Easter egg hunt in New Castle on Monday.  Brett and Kelson thought it was pretty fun and Caleb loved playing with the eggs after they found them all.



Captain Stinky Breath

This post is kinda late....
Caleb is 10 months!!
My baby is getting big so fast!  He is getting into everything!  He crawls fast and pulls himself up whenever he gets the chance.  He loves walking along furniture and pushing things as he walks. 
He has had an unlucky winter with being sick.  He had bronchitis about 3 weeks ago.  Then he was horribly sick again this last weekend and found out he has tonsillitis (i think).  He had a really red throat, incredibly swollen tonsils, and STINKY BREATH!!!  We now call him "Captain" or "Captain Stinky Breath"  He is starting to feel better and actually start to eat again.  He is such a happy little guy when he feels good.  He is 19 lbs 10oz and loves table food.  He can say "momma" but doesn't very often.  He is so much fun, even if he does have bad breath!  Love you Caleb!

You'll feel better when it stops hurting

This past month has been a little on the crazy side....
Everyone in our family has been sick.  And it turns out we are the unlucky ones who were sick for most of the month of March.  I finally went to the doctor a week and a half ago to find out I had a sinus infection, strep, and mild bronchitis.  So, with this knowledge I thought I better take my kids to the doctor.  I called up the primary care doctor, and his nurse told me that he has no time in his schedule that I need to see the on call doctor.  Well, this did not go over well with me.  My kids had already each been sick one or two times this winter and the other times I called, I got the same response.  So, this was the last balloon left to pop!  I told the nurse thanks for nothing and that I will find a new doctor. ( I don't see the point of a primary care doctor who can NEVER see you or your children. I can understand seeing the on call doctor- every once in a while, but every time is ridiculous.)  He used to keep slots open for if someone called that day- but he apparently doesn't do that anymore.  So, I found a new doctor and I am SO glad we switched.  He got me in promptly for an apt. and I didn't have to wait in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes.  At the doctor we found out that Kelson and Caleb both had bronchitis and Kelson still has his tubes in, but even so he had a mild ear infection in one ear. 
Now, that Caleb isn't sick he is actually sleeping through the night again.  He usually sleeps from about 9 til 530 or 6 and then goes back to sleep until 730 or 8.  He is 19 pounds and 12 oz and he LOVES to eat table food.  In fact, there is very few baby foods he will even eat anymore. He has 4 teeth and at least 2 more are coming in.  He loves to climb up to things, and he is crawling really fast.  He loves when Kelson plays with him, but still loves to be held when I'm in sight.  Kelson is getting meaner to Caleb every day.  He pushes him, and hits him, and steals toys that Caleb is playing with.  When he isn't being mean he is a great brother.  He always wants Caleb to follow him from room to room.  Kelson is 29.5 pounds and a horrible eater! 
This month we also painted a lot of the house.  Miste says I live in a rainbow.  We painted a wall in my kitchen yellow, a wall in my bedroom a grayish blue, the kids bathroom brown, and my bathroom is light green.  I love the way my house turned into more of a home just from painting and decorating.   I still have a few walls left to paint cream and all the trim needs touched up, but we are getting there slowly but surely.
