THE UPDATE

I haven't posted much lately, and have lots to catch up on.  It is a lot harder to find time to post with 2 kids.
So here is the update.
CALEB IS 3 MONTHS OLD! He is so much fun. He is already learning to be a tough guy cause Kelson is everything EXCEPT gentle.  He is starting to really lose his hair now- which is quite sad, but he is still so cute.  He is smiling so so much and is so close to laughing.  He loves to just lay under his toys and swat at them.  He is a pretty content baby for the most part.  He is finally giving me the sleep that I want (knock on wood)  He has been sleeping around 8 hours at night for 2 weeks (except for 4 days last week).  He is still growing like a weed... He is around 14 pounds and such a good little eater.   He RARELY spits up- maybe 1 time a week (if that)- way different from Kelson who would spit up so much i always had 2 or 3 burp rags soaked at the end of each day.
KELSON IS A TERRIBLE 2 YEAR OLD!  He has recently started throwing temper tantrums... literally throwing them.  He throws himself on the ground and cries and sometimes kicks his legs.  When he isn't throwing a fit he is such a fun little toddler and learning so much everyday.  He is talking so much and has started making sentences.  In the last couple weeks he has decided that he wants to be held frequently- maybe cause Caleb gets held all the time? I don't know.  It is so cute when he asks tho- "Hold you, hold you"  He is getting really smart.  He can count to 6 but forgets 4 most the time.  He is starting to recognize letters, but he still calls most letters "C" "S" or "Y"  He loves to play with his toys and loves looking at books.  He absolutely hates nap time, but cries for bed when he gets tired at night.  He loves Caleb and loves to hold him... He has tried to pick him up a few times- luckily he doesn't do that too often.  He loves to try to share his toys and his food with Caleb.  He is such a great big brother.
TREVOR IS ALWAYS GONE :(  Trevor has been working out of town since July (i think)  He is pretty much gone for the week and comes home for Sat night and Sunday, then he leaves again.  Every weekend he says something like "what did you do with my baby?"  "He is so big and changed so much."  We miss him but glad that he has a good job right now.
THE HOUSE is finally getting to be more like a home.  I have decorated more and decided on colors to paint.  Soon after the rooms are painted and decorated I'll actually post some pictures.
AS FOR ME...  I started back at work 2 weeks ago.  Luckily all I work is 1 day per week, and I feel like that is too often to be away from my boys.  I have become quite the little baker... After Granny died I was determined to make her 'famous chocolate chip cookies' and after 7 batches I came pretty darn close :)  Other than some occasional baking I just do the usual spend time playing with the boys and trying to keep the house clean and work on getting it more decorated. 
Life is good and we don't really have much to complain about.

Kelson is 2!!

I haven't posted for so long. Kelson turned 2 on July 8. He is at such a fun age now- his wild and naughty personality is really showing. For his birthday he got SO spoiled. It was good to give him all the attention since Caleb was born he was feeling a little left out i think.

The Delivery... IT"S A BOY

On Friday June 10, 2011 we welcomed little Caleb into the world.  I was measuring small from around 36 weeks I never grew bigger than 35cm.  I started having NSTs (Non-Stress Test) to monitor the baby's heart and movement.  I also had a few more ultra-sounds.  On Monday the 6th I had a NST and the doctor decided to schedule me for Friday.  Then for some reason the hospital said I didn't meet "criteria" so I went back to the doctor on Thursday the 9th for an NST and an ultra sound.  He measured my fluid and it was good, so he looked at my placenta and it was calcifiying, so he measured the baby and he was measuring so small that I now met criteria for the hospital to allow me to be started the next day.  Right before we did the ultrasound the doctor stripped my membranes just incase I didn't meet criteria- hoping I would go on my own soon.  So...  In the new house we don't have very good cell service so me and Trevor decided to stay at my moms house on Thursday night so we would be sure to get the call from the nurse saying come to the hospital.  Well, at around 11:40 I was getting uncomfortable and just after midnight I asked my mom if I was having contractions.  I decided I was and they were about 10-12 minutes apart but they were really hurting.  So, I woke up Trevor at 1:35am and we went to the hospital.  By the time I was changed into the gown my contractions were every 3-5 minutes apart.  I was dialated to a 4+ so they got me started on my liter fluid bag so I could get it into my body before getting an epidural.  About 1 hour later I got the epidural and right after the epidural they checked me and I was an 8+   The epidural took so well that they actually had to turn it off for a bit.  Unfortunately the epidural slowed my labor.  They gave me pitocin to get my contractions going again.  I was dilated to a 10 around 530 but they wouldn't call the doc until 6 because my water hadn't broke and the baby hadn't dropped.  So, just after 6 I started feeling like I wanted to push... so, they called the doc.  He came in and broke my water and I pushed about 1 1/2 times and baby boy was born!  He was born at 6:29am.  He weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and 18.75 inches long.  He is perfect!

New House

We finally closed on the new house on May 28th!  Of course we were so ready to move we moved out on the evening of the 29th... yes just took one night to move everything- thanks to family!  It was nice that we could move so quick because on Saturday the 29th we were able to deep clean the house we moved out of so that our renters could move in the following Monday.
We took about 3 or 4 days but got all the boxes unpacked.  We started the painting, but it isn't all finished.  The house is still a small project that we will fix up sooner or later...
I will try to post pictures in the next few weeks.  Unfortunately we don't have the internet anymore- so it might take a little longer than normal.

Swimming Fun and Mothers Day

Some of my family came down over Mothers Day weekend.  So, we decided to get together and have a cook out and do some swimming at my mom's.  On Saturday we set up my moms patio furniture that we gave her for mothers day, and we enjoyed each others company.  It was a hot day in St. George and I wanted to swim oh so badly but the swimming suit did not quite fit :(  But here are a few pics from swimming.

For Mothers day we went to my moms church in St. George.  Getting there was an adventure... Kelson barfed all over in the car.  My pregnant nose could hardly stand the smell, so we had to pull over for me to get out and clean up my boy.  He rode the rest of the way in stinky shirt and no pants- just in case he did it again.  So, when we got there we really had to improvise with his clothes... it was an adventure.  My brother Jordan played the piano in Sacrament meeting and he did a fabulous job.  After Sacrament meeting me, Trevor, Kelson, Andrea, and Ivica went back to moms house.  Andrea, Ivica, and I started preparing dinner and dessert.  And Trevor tended Kelson- since we didn't think he should go to nursery and get all the kids sick.  After the others came home from church we ate the delicious dinner and visited before we all left for home.  It was a fun weekend.  I love you mom- happy mothers day. 

Kelson loved playing with Jo.  He was so cute with her.  I just hope he loves the new baby just as much.  I think after seeing him interact with Jo he might be just a little TOO helpful.  Here are a few pics of the kids on Sunday right after church.

Kelson (& Trevor) gave me a beautiful single stemmed rose and when Kelson handed it to me it almost made me cry.  I love being a mom and I'm so excited to be a mom for the second time.

A Huge Relief

This post is mostly for journaling purposes. 
At the beginning of my pregnancy (13 weeks) I was complete placenta previa.  Which at that point in the pregnancy isn't usually a big deal because as the uterus grows the placenta moves.  At my next ultra sound  apt. (21 weeks) I was still partial placenta previa- which meant c-section if it didn't move any further.  Pregnancy wore on, and I had a small worry in the back of my mind...  Final ultra sound (34 weeks) the placenta was not in the way at all.  Not even considered low-lying.  NO C-Section.  I was so relieved to know that I get to experience contractions and all that.  Of course if you know me very well you know that the only contractions I'll be feeling will be before the epidural.
Now I'm down to the last month.  I'm tired and I can hardly sleep but I am so so excited to meet this little baby and hope the next 3-4 weeks flies by.  I am excited to know if it is a boy or girl, if it has hair, if it's hair will be red, etc.  Although last pregnancy I was started at 37 weeks so, I'm scared... I don't know totally what to expect- it's my first time experiencing contractions and having to drive to the hospital in labor... I have experienced Braxton Hicks this pregnancy (I didn't last time)- and they are getting a little more uncomfortable.  I know that my body is preparing and I'm SO SO excited for baby Gardner to be born!

Easter Weekend

This year for Easter we went to Tropic to spend some time with grandma Shakespear.  The boys went bear hunting on Saturday and Sunday Morning.  We girls and kids just hung out with grandma.  We stayed at her house for the weekend.  Although, there wasn't quite enough beds, so some of us stayed at Uncle Danny's 2nd house there in Tropic.  We had a fun time just visiting and being lazy.  Kelson had his first Easter egg hunt and he LOVED it.  Kelson and Brett had the Easter egg hunt in grandmas yard.  We hid eggs hard for Brett and easy for Kelson.  He loves candy so much that he was kinda ornery when it was time for dinner and we wouldn't let him eat candy.  It was a fun weekend.
